Low-Cost Rapid Prototyping Patent Database Available
A new database and web site that permit detailed study of rapid prototyping
technology for users, system developers, material scientists and market
researchers has been introduced by Castle Island Co. of Arlington, MA. Rapid
prototyping technology is used to fabricate physical objects directly from
CAD data sources and is also known as solid freeform fabrication.
The Rapid Prototyping US Patent Database is available by email, disk and
print distribution. An optional quarterly patent updating service is also
being introduced. The database and updates provide the starting point for
detailed searches of rapid prototyping technology, and an easy and
inexpensive way to keep abreast of commercial and technical developments in
this fast moving field. The products are described in detail on the
company’s web site at
http://home.att.net/~castleisland
In addition to the database product descriptions, the web site has extensive
information about rapid prototyping methods that have been commercialized and
those still under development. It also shows how to learn more about any
technical subject, including uncovering related patents, technical papers and
market research data.
The Rapid Prototyping US Patent Database has information on more than 375
patents covering all aspects of the technology, and sells for $29.95 by email
distribution. The quarterly update service is an additional $19.95 for a
year’s subscription, and an annual database update is provided without charge
to subscribers upon renewal. The 150+ page print version of the database
includes all of the information on the web site and is extensively indexed.
